Some Random Thoughts...About Movies, Movements, and Mishaps

I recently broke my wrist. Don't worry, nothing major, not a ton of pain, but the little hairline fracture on the growth plate in my left wrist is a major mishap. And inconvenience.
You see, I have to wear a splint. It's so dumb--I didn't even get something somebody can sign for all my trouble and pain. I walked around with nothing and a broken wrist for a week before my mother got me to the doctor (not even for the sole reason that she suspected my wrist was broken). It's so unfair. Now, I can't type, pour juice into a glass, wash my hands, or pick up my dog because my entire left forearm and hand are immobilized. If I want to do anything I have to have help or completely overuse my right hand. Thank goodness I'm right-handed anyway. It's been an unlucky week for me. First I break my wrist on the first day of school, a week later use the broken wrist to do push-ups and gun disarmament in martial arts class, audition for a play, do a great job, and then find out I can't make the practices so can't be in it, get a splint that NOBODY CAN SIGN!!! meet a really awesome new friend but can't see him more than once a week, find out at the church picnic that some uber-delicious supposedly "okay for me" cereal treat has dairy in it, after I've already eaten more than half of it, annoy my brother and his girlfriend out of their minds when I'm bored and lonely and am having a spaz attack with epic foot-in-mouth proportions, and finally get my period the next morning, the last day of freedom before my school starts.
Ugh.
Now that I've finished venting, however, I have a few happy things to say before I go.
One: One of my all-time favorite movies is Legally Blonde. Have you seen that movie? It's such a great movie, and I don't even mind that the lead character is a ditzy blonde. She is just the nicest girl you will ever meet, and a very unique character. I really really REALLY like this movie.
Two: Last night I discovered yet another awesome and amazing website that I will be going to over and over and another video I will replay again and again.

http://www.freehugsmovement.org/
Go to this website and see what people across the world are doing to make a difference in people's lives. Watch the video--it's beautiful. http://freehugscampaign.org/This one has a little more information and background on the video and the man that started it all. If you sign up, you can get information on free hugs campaigns in your own area, and hopefully you will participate in this amazing event. I am so excited to do this myself, and hope that you will be too!

What I love about FREE HUGS is that you give people a simple hug and may impact a person's life in a big way. Even if you never know it, your showing that you care by giving them that hug can really affect their day, even their life. It's such an amazing gesture. Christians out there should be especially excited about this movement: God can use our love for people, shown with a simple hug, to change a person's life and maybe bring them to a personal relationship with Christ. You just never know the full impact of what you've done.

God bless you all today and everyday. I pray that you will remember His love for you and everyone else on this planet. Also that with that knowledge of His love, you will be compelled to show that love to others today.
Love in Christ,
Ellen
